FALL 2023 classes begin August 17th!  Free ESL Classes. Free HS Diploma Classes. Free GED/HiSET Preparation classes (Taught in English and Spanish, Mornings and Evenings). FAQ's

Q1.  Who can enroll for classes at the Adult School?
 
A1.  Any adult 18 or over who is not enrolled in a high school may attend the Norwalk-La Mirada Adult School.  Any high school junior or senior may be admitted with approval from the High school Principal and the Director of the Adult Education.
 
Q2.  Can students enroll online or via phone?
 
A2.  Students must enroll in person for most classes. Students may enroll at the Norwalk or La Mirada Campus office for classes at either site. Online enrollment is available for CTE classes through www.nlmas.org. 
 
Q3.  Is attendance mandatory?
 
A3.  Regular attendance must be maintained or student will be dropped.  Students missing the 1st day of class will be dropped if there is a waiting list. 
 
Q4.  Is food or drink allowed in the classroom?
 
A4.  No.  Only bottled water is allowed in the classroom.  There is a food truck that is available during break for food and drink purchase.  All food and drinks must be consumed in our designated patio area outside of the classrooms.  No exceptions.   
 
Q5.  Is smoking allowed on campus?
 
A5.  No.  NLMAS is a tobacco-free environment.  Please refrain from using tobacco products on NLMAS property.  (Board Policies 4023 and 5490)
